Dr. Edward Schmitt, Psy.D.

Dr. Edward P. Schmitt received his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, with Honors, from Michigan State University, in 1980. He completed his Masters and Doctoral Degrees from Central Michigan University, in 1987 and 1993 respectively. He interned at Henry Ford Hospital, in Detroit, one of the nations top 25 hospitals, in the Department of Psychiatry. His major rotation was in out-patient psychiatry with a minor rotation on the Medical Hospital Inpatient Consultation/ Liaison Psychiatry Service.

Dr. Marie McKay-Schmitt, Psy.D.

Marie A. McKay is a licensed psychologist with over ten years of experience. Since her licensure twelve years ago, she has worked at a number of community mental health centers, an in-patient psychiatric unit, a center for developmentally disabled residents, and private practice. Dr. McKay also has six years of teaching experience through teaching contracts with Aquinas College and Central Michigan University. Dr. McKay's major areas of interest include the assessment, understanding, and treatment of shame, especially relating to trauma and trauma resolution.

Jim Metcalf, M.A., M. Div., LLP

Jim Metcalf has been an associate of Jenison Psychological Services, P.C., since August 2001. He graduated from the Department of Counseling Psychology at Western Michigan University in December 2000 after interning at Ottawa Community Mental Health. He currently holds a Limited License as a Psychologist in the State of Michigan. Previously, he received his Master of Divinity from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, MO. He has served congregations as a Lutheran pastor since 1978. In addition to his work at Jenison Psychological Services, he is currently pastor of St. John Lutheran Church of Jenison. He and his wife, Cindy, have five adult children and another daughter in elementary school.

Dr. Eric Sauer, Ph.D.

Eric Sauer is a licensed psychologist who has been providing clinical services since 1991.  Dr. Sauer is an Associate Professor in the counseling psychology program at Western Michigan University. He is currently serving as director of the Center for Counseling and Psychological Services-Grand Rapids (CCPS-GR), and co-director of training for the counseling psychology doctoral program. In 2006, he also began working as an associate at Jenison Psychological Services.

Kim Holwerda, M.A., LLP

Kim Holwerda has been an associate of Jenison Psychological Services since 2005. She received her master's degree from Western Michigan University in December of 1998. She has fifteen years of clinical experience in the field of mental health. Presently, she works at Spectrum Health in addition to her private practice. Her special areas of interest include working with patients and families dealing with chronic illness and working with adolescent girls who are struggling on their way to adulthood. She is married and has one child.

Jackie Kellogg, M.A., LLP

Jacquelyn K. Kellogg is a Psychologist with 15 years of clinical experience including individual and couples therapy, play therapy, crisis intervention, and psychiatric inpatient care. She currently works in private practice. Previously she had worked for Community Mental Health, Spectrum Health Hospital ER with trauma patients, and the Mt. Pleasant Hospital Psychiatric Unit.
